Like-for-Like Vehicle Replacement. In the unfortunate event of a non-fault accident we will offer you a like-for-like replacement vehicle rather than a class ‘A’ car (Nissan Micra) that your insurance company will normally provide you with. There will be no cost to you. The vehicle you drive every day was chosen by you, so if the damaged vehicle was a 4x4, a van or a luxury vehicle, we can guarantee you will be supplied with a similar vehicle while yours is being repaired. If your vehicle is declared a ‘total loss’ the normal procedure is that upon declaration your insurance company will take your replacement vehicle away and you could be left with-out a car for weeks. We will supply a replacement vehicle to you until your settlement cheque arrives at no cost to you. We will make your life easier for you after an accident by handling the claim on behalf with the insurance company of the 3rd party ‘at fault’ driver. You are legally entitled to these services and therefore they are FREE OF CHARGE to you. What if the accident is your fault. If the accident is your fault, for a fee we are able to upgrade you to a like-for-like replacement vehicle, enabling you to drive in the comfort and style you are used to.

What is Excess? Excess is an amount of money you usually have to pay when you make a claim under a comprehensive and Third Party Fire and Theft Car Insurance policies. Excess may not apply to Third Party Only. How much excess to I pay? The amount of excess you pay depends on a number of factors, including what type of car you have and who will be driving it. This figure is made clear when you took out you policy and is contained in your policy documents. Drivers should note, some insurers impose compulsory excess amounts that apply to certain vehicles and young or inexperienced drivers. Who do I pay my excess to? If you make a claim and your car needs repairing under the terms of your policy, the agreed excess should be paid direct to the approved repair garage. If your car is written off, the excess will be deducted from any settlement payment you confirm with your insurer. If your car was damaged in an accident that was a drivers fault and liability is accepted by the third parties insurer, you should be able to reclaim the excess payment back from them. If your vehicle is repaired using our Claims+ service and the accident was not your fault and the third parties insurer accepts liability you will not have top pay you excess. |

After a claim, do I lose al my no claims bonus? If the accident was not your fault and the other party accepts liability, when using our Claims+ service you should not lose any of your NCB. In the event of an accident that was deemed your fault, or an accident where you have had to make a claim on your own motor insurance, you will normally be stepped back a number of years. This completely depends on your insurer, however most will step you back 2 years, from a maximum of 4. For example; if you had 6 years NCB without protection and had an accident that was your fault, you would step back to 2 years NCB. This is because you would be taken back from the maximum of 4 years, and would not receive your extra year no claims bonus on your renewal. |
